WBOC Television Studio
We were consulted by the WBOC tv station general manager. Our standard acoustical panels as well as our custom built on site stretch wall panel systems addressed the specific acoustical challenges WBOC’s brand new Newsplex sound engineers were experiencing both inside the Newsplex and inside the editing room. WBOC’s on-set editing room (under their logo display area on the set) had to be quiet enough to be used while the set was broadcasting to live audiences. A 2” stretch system was installed on the inside walls and ceiling eliminating acoustical creep onto the live set. Standard wall panels were installed on the live set walls enhancing the studio look while reducing the echo problems on the set.
The WBOC live set building is adjacent a busy (and noisy) four lane highway and had broadcasts experienced background noise from the highway. During a planned renovation we installed R-19 insulation in the 2x6 wood-framed walls and then covered the walls with a 2” stretch system with black fabric selected by the owner. There is no longer a problem with background noise from the highway and the studio itself is acoustically “sound.”
