Grace Pointe Community Church has been blessed with growth since being established in 1944. In 2008, the church expanded to its new facility in Gambrills Road in Severn, Maryland and in 2011, enjoyed its first service in their new campus.
We met the staff at Grace Pointe Church in December of 2013 to help solve an acoustic problem they were facing in their new gym facility. As many churches do, they wished to use this space for multiple purposes: basketball games, music events, and small group services.
Using custom, onsite-built stretch fabric acoustical panels, we were able to provide 3 primary solutions:
- Eliminate the acoustic reverb problem and allow the gym to be used for the multiple purposes
- Being built onsite, we were able to begin installation quickly as we didn’t need to wait for shop drawings and panel manufacturing time
- Maintain architectural look and feel of the space. With the flexibility of fabric choices and field-fabricated panels, we were able to closely match the current color of the gym walls and follow closely the existing structure.
Being familiar with these conditions and client needs allowed us to expertly provide a known solution and experienced installation. We had a great follow-up conversation with the staff and members of the church hearing how much they now enjoyed their multipurpose gym.
